What is your role at Parspec?

As a Senior Software Engineer at Parspec, I lead projects through their entire lifecycles—from initial high-level design and resource planning to detailed technical design and implementation. I prepare technical requirements documents and API contracts, design databases, and write code. I collaborate closely with the product team in cross-functional brainstorming sessions, providing strategic advice on feature scoping to ensure alignment with our technical capabilities and business goals.

I also conduct peer code reviews to maintain high coding standards, assist in resolving critical issues, and address security and compliance requirements. Additionally, I develop standard operating procedures for existing systems while identifying opportunities for process improvements to enhance overall efficiency.

Why did you join Parspec?

I joined Parspec because I was inspired by its revolutionary approach to transforming the commercial construction industry—one of the oldest and largest sectors in the world. Despite its size and significance, this industry still has immense untapped potential to leverage modern technologies for greater efficiency and innovation. Parspec's vision to integrate AI and cutting-edge technology into construction feels both inevitable and groundbreaking. I believe they are poised to lead this transformation, and I wanted to be part of a team that redefines industry standards and makes a lasting impact.

What challenges are you looking forward to trying to solve?

I'm looking forward to tackling the challenges of modernizing procurement and supply chain processes in the AEC industry through the use of AI and advanced technologies.
One key challenge I'm eager to address is integrating modern technology into an industry that has historically been slow to adopt digital innovations. I aim to bridge this gap by creating user-friendly platforms that demonstrate clear value and encourage widespread adoption among all parties involved.

Additionally, I'm interested in solving complexities related to data management and analytics within construction projects. By effectively harnessing data, we can provide actionable insights that lead to better decision-making, cost reductions, and improved project outcomes.

Ultimately, I look forward to contributing to Parspec's mission of reshaping the construction industry through technology, and making a lasting impact on how projects are executed and managed.

What do you see as the most exciting trends or developments in your domain right now?

One of the most exciting trends right now is the rapid advancement and integration of artificial intelligence across various industries. AI is transforming how we solve problems by automating complex tasks, providing predictive insights, and enhancing decision-making processes. From healthcare and finance to manufacturing and transportation, AI is revolutionizing workflows, increasing efficiency, and opening up new possibilities we hadn't imagined before.

This widespread adoption is not only driving innovation but also has the potential to address some of the world's most pressing challenges.

What do you think is the most important skill that a successful professional needs to have?

I believe inquisitiveness and critical thinking are the most important skills for a successful professional in my domain. Inquisitiveness drives continuous learning and adaptability in a rapidly changing industry. Critical thinking enables us to analyze complex problems, challenge assumptions, and make informed decisions. Together, these skills empower professionals to navigate challenges effectively and contribute meaningfully to their organizations.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?

I would say it's the urge to get up and chase all the dreams I have, but it's actually my cat who can't wait for me to feed him.

What have been some of the most important lessons you’ve learned throughout your career?

Throughout my career, I've learned the importance of continuous learning and adaptability. Technology evolves rapidly, and staying curious enables me to keep pace with new developments.

I've also realized that truly understanding the needs of the end-users is crucial; technology is most impactful when it effectively solves real-world problems.

Collaboration has been another key lesson—working closely with cross-functional teams leads to more innovative and robust solutions.

Finally, I've learned that bridging advanced technology with traditional industries requires patience and clear communication to drive meaningful change.

What techniques help you stay organized and productive?

I stay organized and productive by having a clear plan for my day and week, breaking larger objectives into smaller, manageable tasks. Prioritizing these tasks based on importance and deadlines helps me focus on what matters most. I use productivity tools to track responsibilities and deadlines, ensuring nothing is overlooked. Time-blocking allows me to allocate focused periods for work, and minimizing distractions—like limiting non-essential notifications—enhances my focus. Regularly reviewing my progress and adjusting plans keeps me adaptable and on track to meet my goals.

What sparked your interest in the technology industry?

My interest in the technology industry was sparked by my passion for problem-solving and critical thinking. Technology touches every aspect of our lives, and I was drawn to an industry where I could use these skills to make a meaningful impact. Working in tech allows me to tackle complex challenges that deeply affect people, which is both fascinating and rewarding.

What is the biggest challenge that you’ve faced since joining the team?

One of the biggest challenges I've faced since joining the team has been fully understanding the intricacies of the AEC industry to better serve our customers. Coming from a technology background, I needed to immerse myself in the specific needs and pain points of professionals in the construction sector.

Bridging the gap between advanced technological solutions and practical, real-world applications required a deep dive into the domain. This learning curve has been both challenging and rewarding, as it has enabled me to develop more effective solutions that truly address our customers' needs.

What are your career goals? Where do you think Parspec can take you?

My career goals center on being part of revolutionary innovations that fundamentally change how industries operate. I aspire to contribute to groundbreaking projects that disrupt the status quo and bring about significant improvements in efficiency and effectiveness. Parspec offers the perfect platform for this ambition. By pioneering advanced technologies in the AEC industry, Parspec is set to redefine traditional processes and set new industry standards.

I believe that by contributing to Parspec's mission, I can be part of a transformative movement that changes the way things are done, fulfilling my goal of making a meaningful and lasting impact.

If you were not working at Parspec, where would you be?

If I weren't working at Parspec, I would probably be working somewhere that is also looking to disrupt industries by leveraging modern technologies.

What is your favorite food?

My favorite food is a nicely made Lamb Steak.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I like to do quite a few things outside of work. I enjoy go-karting, learning about cars, racing on the simulator, training in MMA, reading books, discovering new places to eat, and, if I'm lucky enough to have the time and opportunity, going scuba diving.

Describe your perfect weekend.

A perfect weekend would start with a nice breakfast, followed by go-karting with friends, an MMA training session in the evening, and dinner while catching up with friends. Sunday would start with a nice brunch, followed by some reading in the afternoon. The day would end with an evening drive, followed by a nice homemade dinner.
